Hello all. Somehow it is now September, the children are back at school and at last there is a chance to tell you about the mountains we have been scaling for Charlie over the last few months.
We are SO SORRY it’s taken so long to update you – believe it or not we have climbed four more peaks since we last updated you… this blogging business is harder work than it looks, I promise!
Anyway, with a little time on my hands at last, I plan to put that right. So…. you have been warned, lots of mountain chat and pics coming your way!
So where have we got to so far? Well, we have climbed eight peaks and have just two mountains left until we’ve done all ten.
The plan originally was to scale ten mountains by this September, but rather wonderfully they’ve taken longer than we thought which means that we are looking at 2017 for the final two peaks.
The climbs have brought both of us such amazing memories, the thought of finishing the challenge is a little sad to be honest. And we have been joined by such incredible people and had such adventures en route that it is with great happiness that we look forward to those final two to come.
So what have we been up to over the summer? Well, we set off up one more peak in Wales at Easter when we walked through a blizzard to try to get to the top of Snowdon (peak 5). Then during May we set off for the Scottish highlands to climb Slioch (number 6), attempted Ingleborough in Yorkshire (number 7) in July and we are recently back from climbing our highest yet – Piz Beverin (number 8) in Switzerland.
Each peak has been challenging, scary, exciting and exhilarating in its own way and over the next few weeks we’ll be filling you in on each of these walks, as well as our plans for next year.
In the meantime, thank you again to all our amazing friends who have donated to the two brilliant causes we are supporting – GOSH and the British Red Cross Refugee Appeal. Honestly, there have been many a low moment when your support has kept us going. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
Can’t wait to hear about Switzerland ! Please feel free to share our Mountain nose climbing experience ! If it creates a laugh, I’m in !!!! Love you all,see you soon, you beautiful duo XXXX
